Tugas 8: how to brush your teeth

First, wet your toothbrush: Start by wetting the bristles of your toothbrush with water. This helps to soften the bristles and make the toothpaste stick better.

Second apply toothpaste: Squeeze a pea-sized amount of toothpaste onto your toothbrush. Use a fluoride toothpaste as it helps to protect your teeth from cavities.

Third brush the outer surfaces: Hold your toothbrush at a 45-degree angle against your gumline. Gently brush the outer surfaces of your teeth using short, back-and-forth motions. Be sure to cover all the tooth surfaces, including the chewing surfaces.

Then, brush the inner surfaces: Tilt the toothbrush vertically and brush the inner surfaces of your teeth using the same back-and-forth motion. Pay extra attention to the areas near the gumline, as plaque tends to accumulate there.

Next, brush the chewing surfaces: Use a gentle scrubbing motion to clean the chewing surfaces of your molars and premolars. These areas tend to trap food particles, so make sure to clean them thoroughly.

After that, brush your tongue: Gently brush your tongue to remove bacteria and freshen your breath. This step is often overlooked, but it helps maintain good oral hygiene.

Lastly rinse and clean your toothbrush: After brushing, rinse your mouth thoroughly with water to remove any remaining toothpaste. Then, rinse your toothbrush and store it in an upright position to air dry. Avoid covering it as this can promote bacterial growth.
